Watching-and listening -to Bernadette sing these songs (from SIPWG, AGYG) out of the context of the particular show they were written for, and out of costume, reminds me once again that she is a superb actress.

I wouldn't even sweat about this. This writer obviously hasn't even done his job (research) on Bernadette. He's an ignorate and untalented writer...

Kinda like Nathan Lane. Has he done anything since Days and Nights of Molly Dodd? He just sorta disappeared...

And remember that cute Patti Lupone from Life Goes On? Whatever happened to her?

My submission to the paper:

From Today's Game Plan:

"(Program note: If it isn't yet 7 a.m., you can turn to Bravo to catch Lipton gush about Bernadette Peters. Bernadette Peters? Not to be a jerk, but she hasn't done much since "The Jerk.") "

Whomever wrote this piece may want to do their research before bashing a performer as talented, versatile and busy as Bernadette Peters. A simple internet search would have told the reporter (if you could call him/her that) that Ms. Peters has been extremely busy with not only extensive work on TV and in films but she has garnered a total of 7 Tony Nominations (2 wins) with amazing and history making performances on Broadway where she is considered Theater Royalty, she has recorded several albums (some being Grammy nominated) and enjoys a rather lucrative concert engagement calendar all around the world. A simple search on the Internet Movie Database will provide a lengthy list of just a few of these accomplishments.

True, she hasn't been in a movie with Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt which is perhaps the limits of your reporter's realm of reference but many people are wise enough to know this woman is extremely busy due to her amazing talents.

Shame on you for publishing such a bitchy comment.

I'll let you know if I hear anything back from them.

Ouch, moljul. (and nice job)

this is some sports moron writing. he/she/it also only mentions "Family Ties" for Michael J Fox who has done, gee, a few movies and another series since FT, and oh, yes, has some kind of disease or other.

Yeah, I know its pretty much hopeless but for some reason the comment really pissed me off. Must be in a really crabby Monday mood.

Oh. So no duel for Moljul. Oh, well. It's just that I'm reading a novel about Mary Todd Lincoln, and there are duels in it, and it's very exciting. Something about avenging someone's honor. There is the possibility of a bloody mess, but it gets the message across.

En garde!

Ooo. Jenn. What novel on MTL are you reading? I love her. Such a misunderstood historical figure. I've read several books on her myself.

Oh, I'll have to get that one. My current book is not keeping my interest.
